About therapy

We understand that each patient is different, and their path to recovery is unique

We understand that the addiction treatment process is not only an individual challenge, but also an experience that gains value when shared with others.

At the Polish-American Institute for Addiction Treatment, “Reversed,” we emphasize the importance of group therapy, which is oriented towards seeking safety and building a supportive community.

Our group sessions are based on the renowned program of Lisa M. Najavits, offering space for sharing experiences, learning from each other, and collectively striving for recovery.

Group therapy: seeking safety

Our institute places special emphasis on group therapy, conducted in the spirit of Lisa M. Najavits’s “Seeking Safety” program. This world-class method is intended for individuals struggling with addictions and trauma, where the key element is the search for safety — physical, psychological, and emotional. Participation in group therapy allows patients to build relationships, get mutual support, and work on coping strategies in a safe, therapeutic environment.

Innovative treatment methods: dog therapy and hippotherapy

At “Reversed,” we also understand how important supportive methods are in the treatment process, offering approaches to addiction that are different from traditional therapies. Therefore, we have introduced dog therapy and hippotherapy as valuable additions to our treatment program.

Dog therapy

Involves interaction with dogs, which has been proven to be an effective way to reduce stress levels and anxiety, and improve mood. The presence and contact with dogs in therapy can help significantly in building trust, empathy, and better emotional management.

Hippotherapy

Therapy using horses also plays a significant role in our program. Working with horses not only helps improve balance, coordination, and physical strength, but also helps build a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and self-esteem.

Community and support

At “Reversed,” we believe that the power of community and group support is invaluable in the treatment process. Group therapy, combined with dog therapy and hippotherapy, creates a unique environment where patients can learn new, healthy ways to cope with life without addictive substances. Our approach, based on scientific evidence, is aimed at meeting the diverse needs of our patients, always with an emphasis on safety, acceptance, and mutual support.

We invite you to experience change at “Reversed,” where every step on the path to recovery is supported by our community, innovative therapies, and a dedicated, professional team. Together, we build a safe haven where it is possible to find the way to freedom from addictions.
